JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a talented and analytical student to join our Budget and Finance Department as a Student Budget and Finance Analyst. In this role, you will have the opportunity to apply your management analyst or business analyst background with a specific skillset in finance and IT to support budget planning, financial analysis, and process improvement initiatives. This position offers valuable exposure to financial operations within a professional environment and an opportunity to contribute to the success of our organization.
Responsibilities in this role may include:
- Assist in the preparation, analysis, and monitoring of financial forecasts and key performance indicators
- Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and cost-benefit analysis
- Assist in the evaluation and implementation of financial software systems and tools to streamline budgeting and reporting processes
- Perform data analysis and manipulation using Excel or other financial software applications
- Assist in ad-hoc projects and initiatives as assigned by management

Eligibility:
To be eligible, you must;
1) maintain student status through summer or fall enrollment at an accredited college or university in a program with an emphasis in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field;
2.) have proficiency in financial analysis techniques and financial modeling;
3.) excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders;
4.) ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail; and
5.) a valid driver’s license.
Desirable Qualifications
1.) a strong background in management analysis or business analysis;
2.) familiarity with financial software systems and tools such as ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and data visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI);
3.) familiarity with government budgeting and accounting principles
