Associate–Municipal Finance
KNN Public Finance, LLC (“KNN”), is recruiting for municipal finance associate level positions, in our Bay Area office (headquarters) with responsibilities as described below.

Role overview
The associate will be responsible for providing quantitative and bond transaction execution support for the firm’s senior advisors and municipal clients across California. Please see below for associate job responsibilities, qualifications, and additional details.
Job Responsibilities
- Quantitative analysis and preparation of financial models, cash flow, and debt service analysis
- Monitoring of tax-exempt and taxable municipal bond markets and preparation of “market update” materials for internal and client communication
- Evaluation of financing alternatives and synthesize financing results in presentation or memo format for clients
- Prepare complex debt issuance modeling, & related financial analyses for potential & actual municipal bond transactions
- Rating agency credit presentation development
- Coordinate the various activities, internal and external, relating to pricing and closing of municipal bond transactions.
- Gather, organize and analyze information necessary to prepare proposals, client presentations, and marketing materials
- Preparation of research, correspondence, and special reports on current issues in municipal finance
- Attend client/prospective client meetings and support senior advisors
- Support for marketing and new business development, including developing strategies and assisting in responding to Requests for Proposals for municipal advisory services
- Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 2 or more years of fixed income, public policy, finance, or similar field or Master’s degree.
- Basic understanding of municipalities and municipal finance, fixed income, accounting, local government operations and issues and structuring of taxable and tax-exempt debt issues
- Requires strong analytical, quantitative, verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to excel in a detailed and deadline-oriented work environment
Requirements
Associate will either already hold or be required to pass the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board (MSRB) Series 50 – Municipal Advisor Representative Examination. Sufficient exam preparation and guidance will be provided.

- Strong analytical skills
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Command of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Skilled in time management as well as managing multiple projects at one time
