Purpose: Responsible for the “Plastics & Packaging” procurement spend category group. This role requires management and execution of strategies for procurement of product from OEM and CM suppliers. Scope of management may include raw materials, fabricated components, and capital equipment. Responsibility includes directing the development and maintenance of a viable supplier base capable of supplying quality material on time and at cost. The role will also function to enforce corporate procurement policies and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Aid in the development, management, and execution of a Supplier Category Strategy aimed at ensuring continuity of supply and maximizing purchasing efficiency.
Work to evaluate, mitigate, or resolve Supply Chain risk.
Research, benchmark, and assess potential category suppliers and analyze products, processes, prices, and services.
Negotiate relevant contracts with category suppliers managing terms and conditions for pricing, service, and delivery.
Conduct market analysis, as appropriate, assessing business impact and future supply demand.
Solve for on-going supply constraints; independently lead and seek out additional opportunities within existing and external products/services.
Report supply status and challenges regularly including category progress and supplier core competencies.
Manage supplier relationships and execute the Supplier Selection process, working in collaboration with key business partners.
Initiate and execute cost reduction programs with suppliers. Develop strategies for reducing material costs.
Position Requirements:
Pursuing completion of a bachelors or master’s degree
Must be available to work onsite out of one of our U.S. office locations
Must be available to work forty hours per week, Monday – Friday, May 20 – July 26, 2024. Preference will be given to candidates who are available to extend their internship duration through the end of 2024.
This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Travel requirements are 25-30%.
Disclosure as required by applicable law, the hourly pay rate for this position is $16.00 to $30.00. The actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education and skill level. The salary range is CONMED’s good faith belief at the time of this posting.
