QuickPenny is a payment application that enables customers to pay merchants at point of sale with their bank account. By bypassing traditional debit and credit card networks, QuickPenny significantly reduces transaction fees for merchants, allowing them to increase profits or pass savings onto their customers.
Our platform consists of two mobile apps. The merchant app generates a QR code for transactions and allows for easy menu integration and sales tax calculation. The consumer app scans the QR code for quick and secure payments via ACH debit transactions. What sets us apart is our commitment to lower fees, no equipment rentals, automatic sales tax calculation, facilitation of merchant rewards, and an easy, streamlined process for refunds and dispute resolutions.
We have been approved by Apple and Google and our banking partner. We are initially targeting beauty and nail salons, dry cleaners, pet care, small restaurants, food trucks and farmers markets. We are pre-seed and currently fundraising. This would be our first sales hire and a great opportunity for someone looking to enter a start-up on the ground level.
Role Overview:
The Sales Director will play a critical role in shaping our sales strategy, building relationships with early customers, and laying the foundation for our sales organization. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys the hustle of a startup environment, is adept at wearing multiple hats, and is looking to make a significant impact.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute initial sales strategies to acquire our first small business customers directly.
Personally engage with potential customers through cold calls, networking, and in-person meetings to understand their needs and introduce our solution.
Build and maintain strong relationships with early customers, acting as the face of QuickPenny.
Lay the groundwork for future sales processes and a scalable sales organization.
Collaborate closely with the founding team to align sales strategies with overall business goals.
Provide insights from customer interactions to inform product development and marketing strategies.
Prepare for the scaling of the sales team, including developing training materials and sales enablement tools.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in sales, with a track record of exceeding targets, preferably in a startup or high-growth environment.
Strong entrepreneurial spirit and a willingness to wear multiple hats in a fast-paced, evolving startup landscape.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with small business owners and decision-makers.
Ability to work autonomously, prioritize effectively, and drive results in a remote work environment.
Passion for payment space and a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities for small businesses.
Resilience and adaptability, with the ability to navigate uncertainty and embrace change.
Must be U.S. based.
