Local CPA firm located in downtown Honolulu is looking for Senior Accountants for our Tax and Audit & Accounting departments. Position is full-time and in-office.
Senior Accountants perform most engagements with little supervision. They direct and review the work of staff accountants and are capable of making decisions on audit, accounting and tax matters.
Responsibilities
- Possess technical knowledge sufficient to supervise staff accountants
- Acquire the skills necessary to develop quality client relationships and loyalty
- Develop a command of pertinent audit and accounting standards or tax standards
- Proficient at audit, accounting and tax research including a knowledge of the reference sources available
- Evaluate the performance of staff accountants
- Assume responsibility for the supervision of audit, accounting, tax and advisory engagements
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise the various phases of an audit, accounting, tax and advisory engagement
- Perform other duties as assigned by engagement managers or directors
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Master’s degree preferred
- CPA license strongly preferred
- Minimum 3 years of public accounting experience
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Self-starter with strong organizational and analytical skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
