Are you passionate about shaping the future of investment in groundbreaking ventures? Join us in the vibrant world of venture capital, where your skills will play a crucial role in crafting and analyzing documentation for the investments our fund is making.
About Us – Longevity Fund
Our lead Managing Director has one current public co worth $3.5 billion. One of his previous exits was an asset he sold for $11.6 billion and another for $14.3 billion.
Our new venture capital general partner and management co, Bailey & Larsen, is currently in stealth mode. Still, we are at the forefront of investing in companies that contribute to the longevity revolution, pushing the boundaries of innovation in healthcare, technology, and beyond. Our team is dedicated to supporting visionary startups that aim to redefine the possibilities of a longer and healthier life and could grow to the billions or tens of billions.
We are looking for 2 to 3 interns to assist us with the creation of our analysis and documentation on the investments that the fund will be making and materials for our Limited Partner investors.
You will be working directly with and making reports, presentations, website information for our investment club into our special purpose vehicle venture capital investments, and other documentation for the managing directors, other team members of the fund, and investors.
What are we investing in?
We are investing in biotech and therapeutics focused on lifespan (can we help people live for at least 10 – 20 years longer?) & Health span (can we help you be healthy for as many years as possible until the very end?).
This is an exciting field, with multiple individuals from Stanford University and other highly respected biotech investors estimating that it will soon become a multi-trillion-dollar industry.
Top leaders from investment banking divisions of giant financial institutions like UBS, Barclays, Bank of America, and others are putting incredible focus on the possibilities of longevity investing. Recently, one Senior executive stated that they believed that getting into longevity now is like getting into artificial intelligence 3 years ago before chat GPT and other incredible AI tools.
One way to think about this incredible new industry and how much it will change the world is the different mentalities in the evolution of medicine:
If medicine 1.0 are techniques from the 1800s like bloodletting or using highly toxic mercury for different medical uses, thinking it would help,
Medicine 2.0 is like what we have now, treating someone after getting sick. Giving people drugs and treatments but only after they have cancer, diabetes, heart disease, Alzheimer’s, etc.
Medicine 3.0, is a scientific breakthrough in therapies and medicine that help people from getting these terrible diseases in the first place.
This is what our venture capital fund is helping to invent by investing in the most advanced teams of PhDs and researchers inventing the most incredible treatments in medicines, some that already sound like science fiction.
For example, we want to invest in some breakthroughs to enable their FDA approval. One of these includes a technology to use parts of 1 transplanted liver to help grow livers for 75 patients who might not otherwise get a transplant. Another product that can help prevent diabetes is a drink that has been created that puts people into ketosis for 6 hours after drinking – improving mental cognition and weight control with the need for a keto diet.
Intern Responsibilities and duties:
As an intern with us, you will be instrumental in creating and analyzing all documentation related to our investments. This includes preparing presentations, managing website information, and assisting with documentation for our managing directors. Your work will directly contribute to the success of our fund and the growth of transformative ventures.
For this unpaid internship, we will help work with your school to get college credits that you don’t have to pay for if they are available.
We are looking for interns who can do 10 to 20 or more hours per week. Because this is a remote opportunity, we are happy to be flexible around your school and job schedules. We just ask that you let us know in advance which hours you will be working that week.
What will you be doing day to day?
As a venture capitalist intern, you will be working directly with the Managing Directors and researching the investments we plan to fund.
You will also assist in modeling the potential investment returns and in describing these exciting technologies in ways that ultra-high-net-worth limited partner investors can understand.
You will be researching other competing venture funds and potential investments in technologies and possible limited partners for our fund. This will be content for reports, websites, presentations, etc…
Other duties may include researching alternative investment and tax structures and reporting back to the managing directors, legal team, third-party administrator, and other staff.
Important: it is vital for you to understand that an ideal candidate will be able to adapt quickly to the many different kinds of tasks they will be doing. We are a new fund intending to raise and invest several hundred million dollars in the near future, and it’s an incredibly fast-moving organization.
We can promise you will never be bored! This is not one of those internships where you will be grinding away on an Excel sheet, getting coffee, or making photocopies for your boss.
One of the advantages is that you will get many more opportunities to learn different aspects of a venture capital fund because you will be helping us with so many different exciting parts of it. But your ability to be working on one project and quickly swap to another priority of a managing director and then maybe going back to the original project or maybe starting a new one is something that is required.
This is a remote opportunity you will be primarily working with us over Zoom, phone calls, Google Docs, Notion, and Google Slides.
Some interns struggle with the ability to be self-starters and to be able to switch tasks so often at a high-performance organization like ours. This is not a “paint by numbers” type of opportunity where you will be told how to do something. We need creative, ambitious people who can be given an assignment to go learn how to do something and how to find something out and then come back and show the managing directors what they have found.
Requirements:
– Strong organizational and documentation skills
– Passion for the longevity revolution
– Ability to create compelling presentations and communicate effectively
Preferred majors: MBA students, masters in finance, medical and other biology PhD candidates,
Open to all majors graduate level and undergrad
Join us in making a lasting impact on the future of longevity and innovation. Apply now to be a key player in our venture capital team!
