Financial Analyst – Tax Advocate Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Financial Analyst who excels at tax agency negotiations and financial modeling. This role combines client advocacy with analytical expertise, primarily focusing on representing clients in discussions with tax authorities while developing accurate financial models through bookkeeping analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tax Agency Negotiations: Serve as the primary point of contact with IRS, state, and local tax agencies to advocate for favorable client outcomes
  • Financial Reconciliation: Analyze client financial records to identify discrepancies and develop resolution strategies
  • Financial Modeling: Create detailed financial models based on bookkeeping data to support settlement proposals
  • Client Communication: Translate complex tax information into clear, actionable guidance for clients
  • Payment Plan Development: Design realistic payment structures based on client financial capacity and agency requirements
  • Documentation: Prepare and submit comprehensive financial documentation to support client positions
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline tax resolution workflows

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • Minimum of one full-time position with at least 6 months tenure
  • 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, tax resolution, or related role
  • Strong alignment with our core values: integrity, innovation, and curiosity
  • Excellent negotiation skills with demonstrated ability to advocate effectively
  • Advanced Excel skills and financial modeling experience
  • Understanding of basic bookkeeping principles and financial statement analysis
  • Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance procedures
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational capabilities
  • Problem-solving mindset with ability to identify process improvements
