Position Overview
The Business Development Representative (BDR) is responsible for generating new leads through outbound cold calls, prospecting, and targeted outreach. This role is critical in developing the sales pipeline for Constructable by identifying and qualifying potential customers in our core markets: Energy (Wind, Solar, Carbon Capture), Oil & Gas (Upstream, Midstream, Downstream), Transportation (Aviation, Over the Road, Railroad, Shipping), and Data Centers (Hyperscale, Colocation Providers, Edge Computing, Enterprise Data Centers).

The BDR will collaborate closely with the Business Development Executive to ensure high-quality prospects are engaged and nurtured for potential business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

Prospecting & Lead Generation:

  • Conduct outbound cold calls and emails to identify new business opportunities.
  • Utilize Constructable’s CRM (Salesforce) and research tools (ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, etc.) to build targeted prospect lists.
  • Qualify leads by understanding their business needs, challenges, and potential alignment with Constructable’s solutions.​​​​​

Appointment Setting & Lead Nurturing:

  • Secure meetings for the Business Development Executive with qualified prospects.
  • Follow up on inbound leads, referrals, and marketing-generated leads.
  • Maintain consistent and professional communication with prospects to nurture relationships over time.

Market & Industry Research:

  • ​​Stay informed on industry trends, key market players, and upcoming projects.
  • ​​​Gather intelligence on prospective clients’ business needs, procurement processes, and competitive landscape.

CRM & Reporting:

  • Log all activities, call notes, and lead details into Salesforce.
  • Track progress and performance metrics, including call volume, conversion rates, and meeting set rates.
  • Provide regular updates to the Business Development Executive on pipeline status and key insights.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 2+ years of experience in a sales, business development, or outbound prospecting role.
  • Proven ability to cold call and set meetings with decision-makers.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly.
  • Experience using CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and prospecting tools (ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Account Engagement).
  • Highly self-motivated with a hunter mentality and a drive to exceed targets.
  • Ability to learn and articulate Constructable’s value proposition effectively.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or other relevant education highly preferred.
  • Experience in industrial construction, engineering, or related B2B industries.
  • Understanding of the sales cycle for design-build construction projects.
  • Previous experience working with data center, transportation, energy, or oil & gas clients.

Performance Metrics

  • Number of outbound calls/emails per week.
  • Number of qualified meetings set for the Business Development Executive.
  • Lead-to-opportunity conversion rate.
  • Response rate and engagement levels.
